The first HPI project in this country was approved in 2003. It aims the improvement of families nutrition and incomes in Frengova community in Struga, Macedonia, as well as strengthening well-being and cooperation within communities. This project aims to:
Improve nutrition status of farmer’s families of Frengova community by increasing milk consumption and dairy products
Increase income of families by marketing dairy products and other activities on the farm.
Spread knowledge of Heifer Philosophy, strengthen friendship and form a collaboration between bordering countries Albania and FYROM
Encourage self-reliance of small scale farms
Heifer Albania organizes training for the farmers on Heifer Cornerstones, community organization, animal management, feeding and health care, environmental issues and gender issues.
